“Peaks” are the highlights, events, encounters and experiences of 2025, translated into music by the two composers as “Plots” — the storylines and narratives.

The FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA’s Reloaded #7 tour with Evi Fillipou began in Frankfurt, continued via Düsseldorf and Dinslaken to Singen, and then via Munich and Freiburg back to Cologne. It was a fantastic experience—even though it’s quite a challenge for a self-financed large ensemble that relies on cultural funding, with 23 musicians and sound engineers traveling across the country. But everyone enjoyed the tour. And the audience rewarded the growing enthusiasm with loud applause every evening.

The annual review of the Kunststiftung NRW reports about FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA as an example of funding:
“The Fuchsthone Orchestra is one of the most exciting ensembles in contemporary big band jazz. For five years, it has been inspiring audiences with its unique sound and incomparable energy.” (Horst Peter Koll)
The collaboration between composers and conductors Christina Fuchs and Caroline Thon results in unique works that leave plenty of room for improvisation and experimentation. This mixture of compositional sophistication and creative freedom makes the ensemble an inspiring pioneer in contemporary jazz. The Kunststiftung NRW has been supporting the Fuchsthone Orchestra, one of Germany’s major jazz ensembles, for several years.
