The annual review of the Kunststiftung NRW reports about FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA as an example of funding:

“The Fuchsthone Orchestra is one of the most exciting ensembles in contemporary big band jazz. For five years, it has been inspiring audiences with its unique sound and incomparable energy.” (Horst Peter Koll)
The collaboration between composers and conductors Christina Fuchs and Caroline Thon results in unique works that leave plenty of room for improvisation and experimentation. This mixture of compositional sophistication and creative freedom makes the ensemble an inspiring pioneer in contemporary jazz. The Kunststiftung NRW has been supporting the Fuchsthone Orchestra, one of Germany’s major jazz ensembles, for several years.

The FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA presents its current programme together with guest artist Evi Filippou (Vibraphon, Percussion).
“Reloaded #” brings together the ideas and endeavours of constant renewal and the search for contemporary sounds. The repertoire of the FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA is constantly changing and therefore remains full of surprises.

We are presenting the new program Reloaded #7 with with guestartist Eva Filipou (Vibraphon, Percussion).

“RELOADED” programs combine the ideas and striving for constant renewal and the search for contemporary sounds. The repertoire of the FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA thus changes permanently and remains full of surprises.
The term “FUCHSTHONE RELOADED#” also stands for the regular concert series of the FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA at the Stadtgarten, the “European center for jazz and contemporary music ” in Cologne.

PROJECT

In fall 2025, we will welcome our second guest to the orchestra: the young, brilliant vibraphonist and percussionist Evi Filippou will inspire and enrich the orchestra’s new program with her instrument.

Caroline Thon and Christina Fuchs are currently writing the new program for this exciting encounter. The tour in November will be followed by studio recordings in December for the FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA’s second album, which will be released by UNIT Records in 2026.
