PROJECT
In its fifth year, the ensemble is breaking new ground: Reloaded #6 is all about visualization, improvisation and new ensemble formats. The new compositions by Caroline Thon and Christina Fuchs were already performed on stage in May (30.5.24 Stadtgarten Köln).
This first concert took place without a guest artist. In August (31.8.24 Wuppertal, Immanuelskirche), the video artist Claudia Schmitz joined the ensemble as a guest. Over the course of several days of rehearsals, she contributed to the visual and conceptual design of the program. In live performance, she is an active player on stage, interacting with the music and creating her own accents.
The FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA is therefore adding another genre to its spectrum. Claudia Schmitz is our very first guest artist, so this collaboration is a very special premiere for us and a new experience that sets new standards!

Statement by Claudia Schmitz:
„My work begins where the media intersect. I am not interested in the modernity of technology as such, but in its ability to create new imaginary dimensions. My work is constantly assuming temporary states, discarding and reinventing itself, exploring the space-time continuum, making its limits visible and questioning them. They explore the limits of media structures and modes of participation.“
Further performances with Claudia Schmitz followed on November 14 (Stadtgarten Cologne) and November 15 (Domicil Dortmund). The latter was recorded live by WDR and will be broadcast in February 2025.
The documentary, videos and photos show it impressively: this collaboration was unique, very special and, as a result, more than the sum of its individual parts! Each of these performances was tailored to the respective space, the visuals generated in real time of the moment and the music as a reflection of it as well as an independent entity!
FUCHSTHONE RELOADED#
With their reloaded # concert series, the FUCHSTHONE ORCHESTRA, in cooperation with the European Center for Jazz and Contemporary Music / Stadtgarten Cologne, pursues the consistent ongoing development of their compositions in a direct exchange with the orchestra.
