Matthias Knoop studied at the MeistersingerKonservatorium Nürnberg and at the Musikhochschule Köln.
He was part of the German Youth Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO) led by Peter Herbolzheimer.
He is a member of the Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, and also worked with many other different Bands and Artists, such as WDR Big Band Cologne, Ack van Rooyen, Markus Stockhausen, Shahin Najafi, David Plate-Septett and others…
