Active member of the ensemble 2019-2022
Martin Gasser studied Jazz-Saxophone at the “Kärntner Landeskonservatorium” from 2006 to 2009 in the Class of Michael Erian during finishing High School. From 2009 to 2013 he took lessons at the “Konservatorium der Stadt Wien Privatuniversität” with Thomas Huber and Andy Middleton. He graduated as a Bachelor of Arts in 2013 to move to Cologne to study Jazz-Composition with Joachim Ulrich at the “Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln”. A Master-Study which he finished in 2016.
Martin Gasser participated in several national and international Jazz-Workshops and Competitions (Fidelio-Wettbewerb 2012, IASJ-Meeting 2012 Graz, Generations-Festival in Frauenfeld, Jazz-Contest Mechelen, HfM Jazzpreis Saarbrücken,….). He also was a Member of international Big-Band-Projects (Jeunesse World Jazz-Orchestra, European Jazz Orchestra…)
Today Martin Gasser is working half as a member of the Landespolizeiorchester NRW and as a freelance musician based in Cologne (bandleader with the Martin Gasser Quartett) or as a Sideman (WDR Big-Band, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Paintbox…).
