Simon Eckert (* 08.08.2001 in Rheinfelden/Baden) is a German trumpeter. He is the lead trumpet player of the Bundeswehr Big Band and studies trumpet (jazz/pop) at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Prof. Andy Haderer and Matthias Bergmann.
He has been a permanent member and lead trumpeter of the Fuchsthone Orchestra since 2025.
He has already worked regularly with renowned ensembles such as the WDR Big Band, the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the WDR Funkhausorchester.
He is mainly active in the field of jazz/pop, but also plays across genres throughout Germany. He has already played as (lead) trumpeter with the Sunday Night Orchestra in Nuremberg, the Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, the Bigband Convention Köln and the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra.
In 2023, he was appointed to the European Jazz Companions Big Band and played at the Nuejazz Festival in Nuremberg, which won the German Jazz Award.
